The Justice Group aims to look at ways of promoting an awareness of Social Justice and taking action.
Our mission is to work with the Holy Spirit in the promotion of Justice for all people and to follow wheresoever the Holy Spirit leads us to implement Gospel based for justice on behalf of those who need our loving help and support.
The Justice Group, established in the Autumn of 2002 out of the Power to Change initiative, is in many ways our faith based response to the challenges of the present era and the challenges are many. From the outset let it be said that our belief, our faith in the presence and direction of the Holy Spirit in our work is paramount and our source of hope, optimism and commitment. Our faith calls us to act, to be responsible trusting in God that the work he has begun in us he will bring to its good conclusion.
Presently there are 12 members and open to new people getting involved.
The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month.
Two Coats project news and information will be updated regularly on this website. News and updates will also be communicated on the Two Coats notice boards in Holy Rosary and St. Kilians’s Church.
The Justice Group has come a long way in a short time. We have formally established Greystones as a Justice Parish, we have created the Two Coats programme, and we now have ten programmes fully operational in the Philippines, Guatemala, Chile, Nepal, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa Pakistan and Ireland.
Further details can be read about the Educational Programmes, Development and Poverty Reduction Programmes, Our Two Coats Health Programmes, and Other Programmes by following the links.
Between our Planned Giving Contribution and the Breaking Stones Fundraiser we have contributed almost a quarter of a million Euro to these nine projects, an absolutely incredible achievement and one of which we can all be very, very proud.
The group is involved in wide range of activities and in its discussions so far it has looked or will be looking at the following:
